Technology

I feel like technology has consummed our lives now a days. You can't walk down the street without seeing someone either on a phone or listening to an ipod. In the article it stated that we are always connected or tethered to some form of thechnology and this is true. Its not a bad thing in my eyes its just that times are changing.

What will the world be like in the next 10 to 15 years? thechnology wise...

  1. It's interesting to think about how much technology will change our lives in the next decade. I agree that when you walk down the street, you see tons of people on cell phones; and it's virtually impossible to go to the gym and see somebody without an iPod. It's strange to think about what life was like before we all had texting and email for communication. As quickly as technology is changing, I'm excited to see what new gadget we'll all be hooked on next.

  2. I completely agree with sam's post. You honestly cant go anywhere without being bombarded with technology. we are always connected to the world whether its a phone, laptop or a Ipod. People cant go more than 30 minutes without checking a phone for a facebook status update or a tweet on twitter. We are so connected to the world and everyone can communicate instantly and if you were to loose that ability people feel left in the dust. For example I have heard many times how when someone looses or breaks their phone or laptop how they feel in the dark from the whole world and they are disconnected from society. they wont be able to text their friends or check their facebook. Lots of people have said how they would die without their Iphone or laptop. These items of technology have become so vital in our society to maintain connect to your friends and the world.

  3. I completely agree that technology has taken over the lives of the American citizen. Similar to walking down the street, it is equally as hard to go for a drive without seeing at least one person texting while they drive, as well as many others talking on the phone. Seeing how far cars have come in 100 years I am anxious to see what will be released next, and whether cars will even be our main mode of transportation in 20 years.

  4. I agree with Sam's post also. Everywhere you turn someone is either texting, talking on their cell, listening to their ipod, checking emails, etc. But, I also agree that all of the new technology isn't such a bad thing. Times are changing and as technology advances more and more everyday. We really have no choice but to just "go with the flow."

  5. In one of my communications classes we have talked about how people in society, due to the advances in technology, have almost taken on a different 'personality'. It like you have one personality in person but now you are almost forced to have another personality through you virtual self like texting, facebook, or blogging.
